2011

It's hard to believe it's 2011! Feels like not too long ago it was 2001 and I was finishing up college and starting graduate school. This year will mark several decade anniversaries - 10 years out of college, 10 years since Nicaragua, 10 years since grad school beginning, 10 years since 9/11.

It will also bring surgery. I dread that more than I can even say here, but I am ready for it to be over. Hopefully it will work great and the stabilization of my jaw will be successful. It would be great to bite into things, but honestly it has been so long, I don't know if I'd remember how! :) I am dreading recovery and the whole process of healing, but I know it all works to the glory of God - no matter what.

Even though I dread 2011 from the surgical standpoint, I look forward to many other great times to be had - and I know they will be plentiful. I started 2011 off with my best friend, Mitzi, and her extended family as I have done the past couple of years. Last year, we had a power outage right at midnight, but the other times we have played Wii until the wee hours of the morning. So as tired as I was the next day, it was a lot of fun.

So here's to 2011 and all it will bring. There's something about seeing the year ahead and being both eager and anxious about the unknown to come.
